AMCI's familiarity with the Stepper Motion industry led them
to design and engineer this powerful stepper motor
driver. Loaded with features, this value-pVACked
amplifier is perfect for applications that require flexibility.
Considered one of our most reliable stepper motor drives,
the SD17080 supplies applications with 8.2 Arms (amps rms)
and 170 Vdc motor supply bus provides even the large size
42 stepper motor with plenty of power.
Readily accessible DIP switches are an integrated feature
that enable easy motor current and microstepping selection.
Additionally, the SD17080 stepper drive incorporates hardware
protection; specifically an interlock connection to prevent
injury if the motor connector is removed while the driver
is powered. Additional protections include short circuit protection
- phase to phase and phase to ground- and overtemperature
circuitry. Hardware protection ensures longevity and fail-safe
operation. When coupled with any one of AMCI's cutting-edge
controllers, this unit is guaranteed to provide years of trouble-free
operation.
The SD17080 8.2 Arms stepper motor driver will interface
with AMCI's complete line of high torque stepper motors, which
range in frame size from NEMA 23 to NEMA 42. These motors
have been tested and selected to perfectly match the electrical
requirements of the SD17080.
This combination of stepper motor driver and stepper motor provides
the best value for your application. Performance, price, and
product all combine to offer you the best solution.

NOTE: There
are 2 ways to express the magnitude of current in microstepping
stepper motor drivers, RMS and Peak.
1 amp RMS = 1.414 amp Peak.
AMCI's SD17080 stepper motor drive is rated for 8.2
amp RMS or 11.6 amp Peak.
