    Description

    1141 & 1142 MicroLogix Resolver Interfaces

AMCI's latest resolver interface is designed for Allen-Bradley's low-cost, but versatile 1762 MicroLogix I/O family of PLCs (1100, 1200, and 1400 series).

The AMCI 1141 (1-channel) and 1142 (2-channel) resolver interface modules connect to resolvers and supply absolute position data and tachometer RPM information to the 1762 MicroLogix PLC. The 1141 is a one channel module that can be connected to one resolver, and the 1142 is a two channel module that can be connected to either two independent single resolver transducer or one dual resolver transducer. Both of these resolver modules can supply position resolution with up to 8,192 counts per turn for both single turn and multi-turn dual resolver transducers.

Onboard diagnostics report the module's status to simplify set-up and configuration. Plus, a programmable input provides you with the following features:

Position preset: Enables you to "offset" the resolver shaft electronically without the need for mechanical adjustments.

Position capture: Records the resolver's position at a point in time and stores in the PLC register for verification against predetermined limits and/or peripheral inputs.

Brake monitoring: Designed for metal forming applications, this feature provides the position when the press brake is applied and calculates the stopping time for operators monitoring machine wear and performance.

The 1140 series resolver interface modules are 100% compatible with AMCI's entire line of resolver transducers. These modules can also be programmed to interface to resolvers made by Ametek/Gemco and Autotech Controls that have a transformation ratio of 1.4.  Please download the PDF 1140 series module user manual for more information.
