7161 & 7162 Micrologix SSI Interface Modules
AMCI developed the 7160 series position sensing modules for applications requiring a direct interface to most sensors that output SSI data.
The 1762 MicroLogix I/O SSI interface modules provide up to 32 bit resolution, with selectable data format of either binary or gray code. AMCI's 7160 series SSI interface modules can be used with most sensors that provide data in the form of an SSI output. This gives the 7161 & 7162 modules the ability to work in a wide range of rotary and linear sensing applications.
Additional features include: position preset, count direction, position scaling, and a latch input (7161 only) that are used to capture the scaled position data. This module also incorporates fault diagnostics that constantly monitor system integrity and report any errors to the PLC.
